Help us meet the challenge to keep the voice of the elected neighborhood representative relevant in a signature-gathering world.
You’re invited.
Maybe you’ve heard about “caucus night” or party conventions and wondered what actually happens in those rooms—who runs the meeting, what the roles are, and how neighbors end up volunteering for them. If that sounds familiar, this evening is for you.
We host plain-English, workshops that walk through the basics: what a caucus is, how conventions fit into the bigger picture, and what common volunteer roles—like precinct chair, secretary, or delegate—actually do. No prior experience needed. We’ll keep the jargon to a minimum and the examples practical.
You’ll arrive with curiosity and maybe a few questions. You’ll leave with a clear picture of how a typical meeting flows (yes, we’ll demystify the Robert’s Rules part), what responsibilities come with each role, and how to participate respectfully and effectively—whether you’re observing for the first time or considering a volunteer position.
Bring your questions; if you know your precinct or district, bring that too—though it’s not required. We’ll share a short handout with key terms, a simple meeting checklist, and pointers to trustworthy resources so you can keep learning after you go home.
If you’ve ever thought, “I want to participate—but I’m not sure where to start,” this is a relaxed, welcoming place to begin.

All of these roles require a level of understanding in order to be effective, and that is where our training comes in. By introducing the process along with roles and responsibilities, we hope to install faith and confidence in each elected member’s effort to participate. We believe knowledge of your roles and responsibilities will result in moving closer to our stated conservative principles.
